You should read Dickens. I find his descriptions of destitution in Victorian London (the wealthiest capital of the world at the time, sound familiar) to be so now.

Remember where you were and what you were doing this afternoon. The President of the United States has committed treason. He has incited a coup against the US Government. Donald J. Trump has intentionally directed his followers to overthrow the law as defined by the Constitution. If that isn't waging war against this country, what is? Trump needs to be removed either by arrest or the 25th Amendment.

actually thinking more on this, yes, this is a major lesson. the capitol building should be a hardened safe house to govern the country from. there is (was) an important process going on inside that should have been the final nail in the coffin of the lunacy that has carried on for the last two months. these crazy protestors succeeded in delaying that process. the security force should, in my mind have been able to keep protestors at bay while the process went on. the votes should be counted and the final door slammed in trumps face, but because of a weak security scheme, the process is delayed and maga supporters will get some more time to hold onto their crazy theories.
