At least some of the FBI are thinking clearly.
Michigan has its share of problems but lots of respect for her putting herself and her family on the line for this.
Reminds me of all the female prosecutors against the Mafia.
I remember many years ago an article where one was asked what she kept in her purse.
She produced a 6 shot Beretta.
When the interviewer asked why she didn’t have something stronger she said if I can’t get them in 6 shots then it doesn’t matter.

And that nasty woman didn't even thank the pResident for HIS justice department getting this done. Sad.

Uh oh. The Clinton campaign is in deep trouble. Pompeo claims more emails will be released. Tim Kaine is gonna be bummed.

Let’s see now. Uncollected back fees owed to Trump by a joint venture with Ruffin, his long time pal, who just so happens to be a guy who got rich on gas stations and now owns casinos in Vegas, has a Russian wife, went on investment trips to Russia with Trump and is now getting a high speed train from southern CA to LV built.

    https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...las-vegas.html

This almost feels like some open circles closing. I mean, Russia has gas...

So where did the $21million come from again?

Too little too late to be impactful in taking down Teflon Don.

Oh yeah, sure. But when things don't come out right, I guess I'm weird - I just can't let go. I'm the guy who keeps saying "I don't understand. What do you mean by uncollected back fees?" Part of my nature somehow.

I'm still asking questions about Frank Sinatra and Spiro Agnew. Just doesn't add up.

I’m right there with you but I’m a cynic. Increasingly moreso as time goes by.

As someone who grew up in NJ and knew that Trump was as a nonserious clown from a young age, I continue to be amazed that reasonably intelligent people buy into his bullshit. He’s failed upward for 70 years. There are receipts, literally, and it doesn’t seem to matter.

Confirmation bias on a grand scale.

I find myself asking the same question I asked back when B of A gave Michael Jackson a huge loan on sweetheart terms: what are these institutions getting in exchange for loaning to someone who’s obviously bad with money?

Completely different animals... Kushner loan smacks of political influence.
MJ loan was backed by collateral. MJ owned the rights to the beatles music library which was part of the collateral in case of default. I think there was a secondary lien on his MiJac Library.

I believe BoA sold the debt to Fortress Investments who collected on it via taking the library. We refer to these types of transactions as loan to own.

I have watched three documentaries on Netflix in the past week: The Silence of Others, Two Catalonias, and The Edge of Democracy. The first concerns Spain's recovery from its Civil War, and the other two how Spain and Brazil have fractured in the past decade. Parallels to the US abound.

What has social media done to abet this? The timing and similarities are eery.

    Another data point:

Holiday Farm in Dalton, MA had a sign along Rt 9 just outside of town made of 19 round bales stacked in a pyramid: Biden/Harris painted on it with flags on either side and USA on top. Someone set it ablaze shortly after it was finished.

It's hard to believe anyone imagines this is patriotic behavior.

Risk of a major fire during a drought. Taking the hay away from farmers and their livestock. So many dimensions to how shitty that is.

If anyone hasn't, read Jason Stanley's book "How Fascism Works". A quote that is appropriate:

"What normalization does is transform the morally extraordinary into the ordinary. It makes us able to tolerate what was once intolerable by making it seem as if this is the way things have always been." ~Stanley / How Fascism Works

Ah, how could I forget about the long play for the Beatles library. Thanks for that and the additional details. I’ll guess the long play of the Kushner deal will be them running away and taxpayers absorbing the default.

This was done in 2019. It was an 10 yr Interest only loan which is the most levered and Freddie only does about 6% of these as part of it's portfolio. Kushnerville loans of $850mm were right at the ceiling and constituent a large portion of the IO only allocation. A renter eviction moratorium has the potential to crush this investment.

The interesting question is the other 31% of 'equity' in the project is it really equity, or another leverage loan from an investor to Kushner.
