There are places where everything deemed trash is burned. Just ride around the little country villages in Czech Republic. Saw an old lady poking a pile of burning debris in her yard that appeared to include a couple dozen plastic bottles and a television. I am sure the smoke from that fire altered my genetics in some horrible way. And that "old lady" was probably a twelve year old girl before she was given the task of burning trash.

DT Swiss is now labelling all the boxes of brass nipples as potential hazard because of heavy metals. Damn, gotta make sure I don't mistake 14g brass nipples for Skittles!

We are allowed to burn piles of brush where I live. Big piles. As a kid growing up in CA I could only imagine this kind of freedom.
Someone told me to put diesel fuel in a tire as fire starter.

Australia's consumer regulator lost a court case on that very issue. They wanted to stop the manufacturers calling them "flushable" wipes because of the damage that flushing these things does to the sewage system. The court said the damage didn't stop the wipes being flushable under an ordinary language definition so until parliament redefines the word it stays.

I tended many clearing fires like this growing up. Having built two houses ourselves as a family, duties went around. Yes, we would often add an accelerant to get things going, including diesel.

I've used diesel, but I don't use it to set an automobile tire alight in order to burn slash, that's all.
