    Default HIgh glycose.

    Diet..
It´s my turn to ask health advice. I have been having symptoms of high glycose: dry mouth, excessive tiredness, hand numbness. My exams from 3 mo ago showed a high glycose but not that bad that warranted medicine. Doc told me to avoid carbo: rice/pasta/ cake.
I just did another exam to check where i am at.. but i ask: do you have ideas for a carbo less diet? I have been forced myself to eat meat a lot in lack of ideas. I love fish and cook it on the oven w/ vegetables whenever i can find it fresh but it can´t be done more than 2x a week. Other than that it´s omelettes w/ spinach/ onions/ cheese. Beans. Lots of fruits.. But after 2 months i need more options. I cook my food since i hate eating in restaurants and sometimes i am too tired for complicated. It would be time for a sandwich or a quick pasta..but i can´t.
    Any ideas?

With all due respect WTF didn't your doc. send you with a diagnosis/recommendation to say a nutritionist?
We are a overly-smart arse bunch however this is not your first primary resource yo.
Love you forever but man, don't guess.

+1 on TT's advice, because if you have things like elevated cholesterol, you may need more precise direction.

But Fran McCullough's cookbook is the benchmark.

Less processed food but it seems you are eating rather clean/healthy already.

I am not sure if the average person knows how much additional sugar/salt is added to processed food (and the food you eat in any restaurant).

Talk to the relevant professionals before taking advice from the randoms.

Assuming you are advised to change your diet to reduce blood sugar, one thing that might help is the glycaemic index developed by some Australian researchers. It basically measures the effect of a food on blood glucose, with glucose = 100 as the baseline. Fascinating that some foods measure >100 eg they're worse than pure sugar. Kellog's Corn Flakes is 132 and several types of white rice are around 110.

Best wishes getting this quickly and satisfactorily resolved, @colker.
Hopefully just some easy-to-adopt dietary modifications do the trick.

What's the difference between glucose and glycose? (other than the fact that the latter may be a typo)

In English, glucose is a glycose*. I suspect Colker made a typo because he's working in more than one language, but he's correct anyway in that the dominant glycose present in blood is glucose.

    * Glycose is another way of saying monosaccharide, a single sugar (glucose is a C-6 single sugar). It isn't commonly used except as a combining form; for example the class of compounds with single sugars attached are called glycosides. These are common in plant chemistry, for instance the smoke derived compounds that have just f**cked my vintage are stored in the grapes as glycosides (mostly of phenols in this case).

A recent blood test showed improvement so now i can eat carbo w/ moderation as long as i cut sugar. No more cake.
    In 3 months another test.
Riding became even more of a need now.
