I'd give my front teeth to have hummingbirds here in Aust. after chasing them all over the PNW.............. I dream of hummingbirds........
Yes, in early winter we take a shallow sauce dish, melt a dollop of honey with warm water to make a weak brew and feed the 3 species of honeyeaters that hang about for winter in our garden. Our winters are mild by US standards but no food = no food for some birds. By mid to late winter we have many native plants flowering, providing tonnes of nectar for the hang in crew so the honey brew only comes out on the bleakest of days for 6-8 weeks of the year.
Was in London at a work thing for the first time in a while. Chose a weekend when there was a bus replacement service for the Docklands Light Railway so decided to walk instead. Turns out it takes you right under the flightpath. This is just a snap with my phone - would have like to have had a proper camera with me.

It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.
