End of the warm seasons and flower (nectar) is rare so it's bug chasing time for the New Holland Honeyeaters

Do you ever put out hummingbird feeders, and if so, will they use them?

I'd give my front teeth to have hummingbirds here in Aust. after chasing them all over the PNW.............. I dream of hummingbirds........

Yes, in early winter we take a shallow sauce dish, melt a dollop of honey with warm water to make a weak brew and feed the 3 species of honeyeaters that hang about for winter in our garden. Our winters are mild by US standards but no food = no food for some birds. By mid to late winter we have many native plants flowering, providing tonnes of nectar for the hang in crew so the honey brew only comes out on the bleakest of days for 6-8 weeks of the year.

Was in London at a work thing for the first time in a while. Chose a weekend when there was a bus replacement service for the Docklands Light Railway so decided to walk instead. Turns out it takes you right under the flightpath. This is just a snap with my phone - would have like to have had a proper camera with me.

It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.

Do you categorize shamrocks on the doughnuts as Jimmies or Sprinkles?

I remember as a kid that the local Army-Navy Surplus store had WWII and Korean era stuff in abundance. Childhood memories of musty smelling green canvas tents with wooden poles at Scout camp.
Then as a young adult, Sunny's Surplus down the street from the record store I managed had Vietnam era stuff starting to arrive. Best winter coat and rain coat I could afford at the time.

14yo me came home one day from the Red White and Blue Thrift Store wearing a green Army jacket (Viet Nam era) ala John Lennon, complete with corporal stripes. My former Marine Dad asked if I had ever been in the Army and that was my hint to remove the stripes and ghost the rank.

Our office moved over the weekend from Belltown to Pioneer Square (Seattle), so the architecture will be different and perhaps the street art too...we shall see.

You need a game camera that's focused on the box.

Yep. Tried to set that up but the mud is pretty intense. Nearly lost my boots. I usually see them afterwards though. There is a camera in the nursery area. Would be nice to see them pop out of the hole. The box has a ladder in it, and the ducklings are only in the box long enough to dry out after hatching.
