    Agreed
Just finished this book and these voyages (and subsequent rescue journeys) boggle the mind.
    Well worth the read.

I don’t really know. There were so many cases filled with so much sweet goodness I didn’t have the time to try all of them. I just thought these were beautiful.

What could be better than pastry delicacies to which one does not know the name?

And i realized i made a faux pas by referring to what appears to be meringues as macaroons. How gauche of me.

Sunset at Hendry's Beach, the bluff is close to white in color, setting sun turned it golden. Hendrys is one of the most popular beaches in Santa Barbara(big parking lot, nice restaurant, etc.) especially for dog walkers, off leash is allowed going up the coast. When I was a kid in the 1950s my mom and all her friends(with their kids) would bring us here and turn us loose multiple times a week, uncrowded, small dirt parking lot, pretty much no amenities, those were some good times!

In Florence (more than several years ago now) there was a jewelry shop next to a bakery and there were definitely more people lingering at the bakery windows. There are jewels and then there are jewels!

Saw one in a fenced pasture while riding on Orcas Island, and then enjoyed watching it run to the gate to meet its person when she drove up. Seemed well loved and clearly loved the lady in the SUV.

Roaring Springs in Rennicks Eddy, Big Piney River, it's about 150 yards up river from the cabin we stay at.

Monday dropped 1.5" of rain in our yard. Unbelievable amount of rain this year. Baby spotted salamanders on the porch.

No filter; I just adjusted the contrast a smidge.
