It took Hoover dam / Lake Mead 7 years to fill, so the beavers, who are presumably not going to have quite as deep a reservoir, are doing well.

    Jorn,
I'm just picturing a 5pm whistle, a bunch of beavers in hard hats, and the foreman saying, "alright that's enough for today boys. Knock it off and we'll keep at it tomorrow."

That's about right, except they work the night shift. Beavers evidently switched from diurnal to nocturnal activity when man showed up. Safer.

Yes, and so are the tourists. Not a great time to attempt a roll through campus at the end of a ride.

I know you can’t see a headwind, but that picture feels like I’m looking at a headwind.

I had a tailwind on the descent back into town. I went all last summer without climbing Rattlesnake ridge, I knocked it out early this year.

OT, but I'm prepping my Camelbak for my ride in Yellowstone NP on Thursday, and by prepping, I mean zip tying bear spray to one of the chest straps. The West Entrance is open to bikes only for the next ten days or so.

Moving month, as we helped move our daughter to a new place last weekend after seven years on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Benefits? Closer to work, quieter neighborhood, 1930's building with cool architectural elements, garage for the bike, 5 minute walk down to Lake Union and the Cheshiuahud Lake Union Loop (trail) and oh yes, several good viewpoints for her cat, Queen Genevieve. Bonus for me, three decent coffee shops and the 14 Carrot Diner, all within a 10-minute walking distance.
