Just last year I bought a pair of shoes at Primark for, like, $8. So I suppose Lionel is just contemplating the same kind of purchase I made: Buying crappy shoes for less than the cost of the sole protectors for my expensive shoes.


The shoes fell apart pretty quickly. But then who would think that $8 shoes would last?

Yeah. It only shifts into neutral while driving once a month. As often as you're going to drive the car, there's a solid chance it'll only happen to you once a year. Seems reasonable. Or you'd be out of pocket another $2K to fix it, but that's still way better than paying $3,300 for a PT Cruiser with similar mileage. And, if you don't like the tan, you could get it wrapped in color-shift blurple for another $5K.

Not a bad car, considering: cheap, great fuel economy, and the 2nd gen had an interior that was actually comfortable, even for tall passengers. One of the better cheap euro subcompacts around, as long as you didn't get the version with the 1L engine.

It's the best daily driver ever. I bought it to drive it like I stole it. Buying such a great car and taking care of it as a garage queen for someone else is what is actually stupid.

I already put 4000 miles on it. Porsche forums are full of people buying cars and not driving them. Beats me. The right analogy is actually to have an Aerotack with SR EPS and ride all the time your Scattante with 105.

I think we all know that if you're looking for a vehicle to haul your MTB to the trailhead, then a Dodge Caravan is the only logical choice.

It's a durn shame that this tricked-out Caravan is out of Lionel's price range. They're asking $6500, and it's located in Lake Havasu City AZ.

However, once he sees it, I'm sure he'll be willing to pony up the difference.
