On the other hand he is used to throw money away by buying and selling things a few weeks/months later so the wrap can only account for "marginal gains" in that process.

And unless it is textured to improve airflow and aerordynamic it is still dead weight. We are talking about someone riding lightweight wheels. Do you want him to fill his aerotrack frame with lead ?

The wrap cost is way more than $5K (the entire car is wrapped and even double wrapped with sacrificial layers in some high wear areas). The vinyl stripes are also under the wrap. While there is always a chance I will sell the GT3, the plan is to pass it on to my son when I cannot drive it anymore. I want to point that the wrapping was done by the original owner of this car that I bought used (ok with 300 miles on it). I am actually really happy to own this car such a joy.

People spend insane amounts of money to shed 10kg on a Porsche. Do think of the milliseconds you might lose in your commute.

Are you serious ? A wrap is less than 2kg at the most. People spending a lot of track time spend money to reduce weight (battery, mag wheels, radio/AC delete, etc...). They also wrap their cars, at the very minimum partially.

Kicking tires around, used ones too. Still in France till tomorrow. Will get serious once local.

My first stop maybe an very used car dealer with a Sequoia. Will be interesting to see my bargaining power when pulling in in the GT3. If nothing else it could be a fun experience.

There has to be at least a million used cars with a service history at the right price in California.

The price will go up by $2000.

Why don't you buy a good second car? You can't have a GT3 as a primary vehicle. For one thing, its a stupid daily driver. For another, too many miles will depreciate its value significantly.

    I've once fitted five bikes (a 54, two 56, a 58 and a 60) in a 2nd gen Daihatsu Sirion. Only two passengers though.

Fold rear seats, remove front wheels, and everything fits fine.

It's the best daily driver ever. I bought it to drive it like I stole it. Buying such a great car and taking care of it as a garage queen for someone else is what is actually stupid.

I have to admit I had to check what a Sirion was.

This was literally the first hit when I put in your budget: Autotrader Amazing Tan Porsche Cayenne for Lionel

Used Porsche Cayenne. It's cheap, it fits a bike and it's a Porsche.

Yeah. It only shifts into neutral while driving once a month. As often as you're going to drive the car, there's a solid chance it'll only happen to you once a year. Seems reasonable. Or you'd be out of pocket another $2K to fix it, but that's still way better than paying $3,300 for a PT Cruiser with similar mileage. And, if you don't like the tan, you could get it wrapped in color-shift blurple for another $5K.

Is that like sole protectors on shoes so you can return them after a few nights on the town?
