    Default Indenting 853 c-s

    Hi
    I´m building a 650B frame and are planning to use 853 c-s´s, is possible make indents for tire clerance or is the 853 to hard to work with?

    If you have any trepidation at all perhaps anneal the area prior to rearranging it.

    Are the stays actually 853? In the early days, only the main triangle was made out of the air hardened steel and the stays were regular 653 if my old mans memory serves me correctly.

    The stays are 853, maybe some production 853 frames had 631 stays, or similar.

    Even if they were made of diamond, we're talking less than 1mm thickness so you should not have much trouble if done right (proper back support, no sharp edges, etc)

    Anyway, as with most things, have a try and see what happens.
