    Default Chef Talk

Marco Pierre White at the Oxford Union:

I started watching thinking I'd bail in a few minutes, but got sucked in for the duration of the "interview" (the interviewer asks two questions, total). Too many commercials via YouTube, but still worth it.

Nothing much about actually cooking, but lots of good perspective on working hard, getting some breaks, and making the most of wherever you find yourself. He's a great storyteller.

he is a complicated chap. Like many brilliant people. When he ran the restaurant in Bellevue Road (then called Harvey's) in SW London you could take the children for the fixed menu on a Saturday lunchtime. It was a very modest cost all things considered. For some years now it has become Chez Bruce and is equally good.

This was a great listen. Bigbill posted in another thread about the Power of Story. This is a great example of this, not what he does but how he got there.
The road taken, like some bike rides, is more interesting than the destination.
