KEXP is the bomb - donate if you can. Last of the truly independent, DJ driven content radio stations. I miss the old days of WERS.

Viagra Boys. Reminds me of Iggy and the Stooges. A little. Sports is their best song.

This is certainly not particularly recent (I came across them in around 2012) but OFF! are well worth a listen in my opinion. Front man Keith Morris is arguably the original voice of hardcore and definitely one of my favorites of the genre.

I sure wish that Keith had taken care of himself better over the years, but he still brings it,

So this thread has somehow lead me to Off With Their Heads. I'm not sure how I got there but I'm here this morning and I'm loving it.

Is Keith not taking care of himself? Seems to still go hard for being 63. I think he's been sober for a few decades now.

Sorry, I didn't put that very well. I was referring to the over indulgences that occurred earlier in his life, that have caused health problems today. He's diabetic now and has slipped into a couple of diabetic comas over recent years. Yes, he's been sober for a good many years now and takes good care of himself from what I've read. At 63 he still goes hard, no doubt about it, but sometimes he looks like he's pushing himself to the limit and beyond in order to pull it off, like in an unhealthy way. I find it concerning at times. It's admirable, but it often makes me think that he would be having an easier time of it if he hadn't done so much damage to his health in years past.

Looking on the bright side, and given that many of his contemporaries didn't make it this far (overdoes, suicides), I guess you could say that he's actually doing pretty damn well.

In addition to all of the KEXP YouTube content, I've also been enjoying the Bridge City Sessions for some new-to-me bands.

Check out Defeater. The concept behind the albums is interesting and the intensity is great.
