I was just trying to buy some stuff there with the same result.

They may have come onboard with to many SKU's and are winnowing it down to what sells?

    Dang, really?

FWIW, this is why I'm buying a lot of Columbus and Dedacciai (Always have except for MTB DT's but they are caught up now) as they have it down and if they go we are going with them.

I guess it's the domestic appeal.

    I get it.

But they need volume - and I know the irony of this in that you wish to buy it.

They came on deck with a ton of oddball tubes, like ones I can't even figure the use of, and which they DO have in stock, like this:

    TXH286PENT-INT-2 – Vari-Wall Bicycles, Inc.

They need to pare it down to what people want.

It used to be they made the seat posts to the size that the tube and wall thickness dictated and not the other way around and that's causing issues on the steel front.

I think that oddball one is supposed to be for seatmast types. Seems thin way up there though. But what do I know -- I've never built or ridden an integrates mast frame.

Only thing I've ever ordered from them was the bent seat tube for 31.6 seatposts. That order went smoothly, but that was also over 6 months ago.

Agreed. Several butt profiles had me scratching my head and worried that I would end up with something I wasn't expecting because I missed a transition length that was extra short or something. There are several of their tubes I really like but some that I like are out of stock which is frustrating.

Butt profiles aside, within the past month, I placed an online order and I received the tubes within a week. And I like that I get a hand written note with each order.

Hmm. My email to Chris @ Variwall has gone unanswered.

What a bummer! I hope the biz over all is doing alright.

Yup, I'm finding the same thing: Unanswered emails and phone calls. I've left multiple voicemails and can only get the receptionist on the line. She has assured me that Chris is in the building and has hand delivered a message for me but, still I hear nothing. I hope things are going alright. I need some of that "weird" tubing that I can't find anywhere else.
