    Default iPhone camera app

I have been playing with a new iPhone app that's been working very well so far. For photography amateurs like me, it is really making it tough to commit to upgrading my camera game.

Check out Moment lenses...they're a good quality lens which rotates into a special case for your phone. They do a 58mm portrait lens and a 18mm wide-angle which is rad for sweeping cycling shots. Their blog also has some great tips for shooting on mobile

The Momentist - mobile photography reviews, tips, and destinations.

The Snapseed app from Google has some great editing controls and is super easy to use as well. Plus it's free!

Mike...try the hosting site www.imgur.com...DCT turned me on to it. Do you use an iPhone and iPhoto? If so, you can load the photo from your camera on your pc, open imgur, drag the photo to your desktop screen, click the new post button on imgur, click the photo and then your photo is stored as an image. Click on an image that you want to post, copy the BBCode link, and paste on VSalon...just like a modern day Ansel Adams.

fullsizeoutput_ab7.jpgfullsizeoutput_7b9.jpegTry turning on your built in magnifier on your phone. It should be in Accessibility in the General of your Settings app. You can really dial in closeups or farther away shots. You take a still, put your finger on the screen. A option for "saving to photos/discard" will show up. Also when doing extreme closeups, it will send a regular sized photo to your photo app. You just need to crop it to what you were originally looking at. The colors are much more intense and field fo depth is better. I do not know why the regular camera setting does not work this way. fullsizeoutput_9aa.jpgfullsizeoutput_a37.jpg
