Question Flat Mount Disc brake tabs

    Folks,
Have any of you guys ever used disc tabs like this? If so can you send some pics? I'd like to know if you had to use s-bend Chain stays

I had an issue with a similar flat mount setup. Once I had a wheel, rotor and caliper in hand it was obvious that the proper mount locarion would involve wiping out most of the chainstay. You can see where the holes ended up on this installation. The stay was 3/4" aircraft tubing mounted to a "Breezer" hooded dropout.

I ended up discarding the "tab" and just carving out space for two pieces of 3/8" chrome-moly tubing. The tab pictured may work for you if your chainstay is quite narrow. Alternately it may place the caliper in a position where it cannot be adjusted to the brake rotor. I would suggest fitting up the caliper to a disc-braKE wheel before making any permanent changes to your frame.

    Good luck!
