My buddy sent this to me. I'm pretty impressed. I figured it would be right up Vsalon's alley.

The 12-Gauge Garage
Thank you.
This is very timely as I'm in the process of redoing my garage and it is almost the exact same space.
Thanks again.

Hear, hear. Thanks for this, amigo. I'm about to kick off something far less impressive, but this is great inspiration/education nonetheless.

This film was my intro to the garage. He shares some of the story. Nice setup.
Sort of lost myself on this website - Strong Hold | Seriously Strong Industrial Storage Solutions
kind of funny he talks about naming the garage after the stronghold cabinets. I was rearranging my short metal stock and put too much in one drawer of a cheap tool cabinet. Well, that was a bad idea.
Those look amazing but I'm terrified to know what they cost.
I'm sure they're worth it.
EDIT to add :: yep. That first one Jorn posted retails for $4100. That's a lotta cheddar for a workbench.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
I recall reading or hearing (in a video) that Jack picked up his furnishings used wherever possible.
There are a couple of small shops and manufacturers in cities I visit--I don't want them to close, but I can't help thinking about the cool used shop furnishings that might come out of them.

Yeah I figured they would be expensive. But Grainger has the craziest prices. I’d need to have clients I could pass along the costs to in order to shop there on a regular basis. For our building, I’ve searched the Grainger catalog, figured out the maker and bought direct and saved easily 20%.
Reminds me - I need to find out when the sale for the equipment here is going to happen.

In Before the Lock
I make my own tables using two 4'x8' sheets of plywood glued and screwed together and 2"x4" frame around the bottom. Then get stamped metal legs (cheap). Easy to add a small lower shelf supported by the legs. Only major downside is that to keep the design simple and inexpensive I didn't bother to add drawers, but I bet they could be added without breaking the bank.
Basically what you see below, some wood, glue, a bunch of screws and an hour or two of work.
If you work at it a little and are patient, you can buy used parts cabinets for a reasonable amount of money. Aviation, research labs, places like that just get an architect to outfit a place and they go crazy with the cabinets and work benches. And there are people that have enough income that they don't worry about putting that kind of money in their home shop or garage. So when they die early of too much stress, you just go to the estate auction. There was a guy near here that died young and had a garage that was amazing. 4 big snapon tool chests were the thing that stood out in my memory along with the lift and the 10 sports cars. The family was trying to get rid of it all. The cars were really nice except the cigarette smoke wasn't going away any time soon.
