    Default Japanese Fountain Pens

These take a bit of the romance out of it, but wow can they crank out quality in quantity...

This dude, on the other hand, is all romance and it's-a-miracle-it-aligns approach.

I watched both. As a maker I think each brand reflects tradition and craft, and are equally romantic.

Thank you for those videos. I love watching threads being cut with a thread chaser. That is a skill that has passed out of general use in the UK. About 20 years ago I bought a job lot of thread chasing tools and many of them were stamped WD (War Department) so it seems that our armed forces had people with the skills to cut threads like that in the not too distant past. On second thoughts, maybe they were just used for cleaning and restoring threads already cut.

Great videos. Nothing more magical than a lathe and someone who knows how to use it.

In case the the fancy nibs need customizing, Richard Binder is one of a few guys who can do it well. Frankly it's not a great video, but it's something.
