    Default Seat collar question

Hi, I want to use a 34.9 seat tube on my next build to utilize a dropper post. I was wondering if folks ever braze in the seat collar/reducer(such as paragon sells) instead of weld?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    It has been done

If i was to do it I would put in a formed ring and sweat it out and then envelop the seam in the middle of the TT / SS junction.

    BUT

I think you may develop creeper cracks over time

Thanks Steve. I'm leaning towards 1 3/8" straight gauge with a .065 wall. If math serves me right, that should do the trick. Keep it simple.

That should only weigh about 3 pounds.

Why not use one of the available posts for droppers that are available from most tubing vendors?

If I'm reading those dropper seat tube specs right, that leaves a .9mm wall at the top tube junction. That seems a little thin. Is there a seat tube that people like?
    Thanks, Chris
