I have read good things about https://www.beanhunter.com as website to help find good coffee when traveling. Check it out to see if their recommendations match yours. :)

I think their search mechanism is seriously awful. It found nothing in Chicago until I started typing 'Chi' into their little search text box, and then it popped up choices, but some were listed as <neighborhood>,<city>,<country> or <city>,<city>,<country> or some such crap. But it didn't show everything in Chicago, just the neighborhood. So apparently you have to know the name of the neighborhood as entered by some reviewer? Once you get a listing, it's good about showing what's nearby, but sheesh.

This was recommended by some famous foodie in London, but now I don't know that it's any better than Yelp or as good as google maps. :P

    Agreed.
They have some flaws in the way their system works. Basically if you put in exactly what you are looking for, it will show you. Of course this defeats the purpose...the reason you are looking on this site is that you don't know exactly what you are looking for.

Their mobile app may be better because you would not have to type in where you are. (I didn't download it to try, this is just an assumption).

Yelp is not awful in that regard.
