    Default Reynolds Meta Braze

Anyone used it? It’s a 40% silver rod which looks similar to Fillet Pro. I imagine there are only so many wire mills in the world making high silver brazing rod so it might be the exact same stuff.

At the quantities I’d be buying it’s about £6.83 (inc VAT) for a 1.6mm x 600mm rod. Some maths required to work out how that compares to FP at about £26 per troy ounce, but I assume it’s pretty similar since it all comes down to the silver price anyway. FP costs near enough the same in the UK as it does in the US so it’s not as if we’re getting battered on the import.

I’ll probably pick some up on my next order and see how it handles.

There are >9000 manufacturers of 40% silver brazing rods. I believe you should find out what metals does these rods consist of first though. The classical recipe contains something like 30% of cadmium, which is toxic.
