Anyone have some suggestions about removing cooked on silver solder flux? I tried hot soapy water but the joint had already cooled by the time I got around to cleaning it and the stuff has hardened up like concrete...YIKES!!!
Cheers,
Russ Colnett.

What flux did you use?
The Brand is Worthington's general purpose silver solder flux. The container didn't have any clean up directions on it...

Russ,
You might try muriatic acid. You can brush it on with a cheap bristle brush. It will take a lot of crap off and the rest should come off when you have the work sandblasted.
For future work, Henry james sells a pretty decent silver flux that will wash off, long as you don't cook it black.
Good luck!

Thanks Curt!
I'll Give that a shot.
