Similar here. We just never had Netflix for the longest time. And the one of my friends and his wife who touted the show the loudest also somehow watch every damn show on TV, leading to minutes-long monologues about how great the recent season of The Bachelor etc was.

I've been putting it off, like a few other things, because the volume is overwhelming - I can't commit to something that's going to take me months to get through!

Slow Horses…my wife actually screamed twice watching an episode last evening. MI5-based modern thriller.

Slow Horses is great. Haven’t started the latest season yet.

I’ve been watching the Vietnam series on Apple- six parts. Not really binge material but very good.

Dune Prophecy is good, but that may be because it has Olivia Williams in it.

I tried to read the book, but just can’t make headways into it.

The TV series looks engaging, though.

I watched the first episode of the Dune show and it felt like a WB show. I guess you're saying I should try again.

David Lean made the finest Dune adaptation.

It aint binge watching, but I would recommend the animation film "Flow".
I'm a big animation fan, and this one grabbed me.
It gives AI big credit, I'm very ambivalent about that.
Anyway, give it a view if inclined.
I'll give it another while my wife is away for a couple weeks.

The West Wing is still a great show 25 years later.

I don't know what WB is, but Dune Prophecy is from the books written by Brian Herbert after his father Frank Herbert died. The books themselves are decent but lack the sophisticated depth of detail that the original Dune books have. So my expectations for the series wasn't too high. I'd say it felt like some of the Star Wars spin-offs but slightly better than those.

We're talking streaming services here though. No one is making high art on these content mills. It is like searching for a better cheese-it snack food product. And even when they start out reasonably good, like Slow Horses, they succumb to management and are reduced to easy tropes (Luke I am your Father...) and gratuitous pyrotechnics.

You describe how I feel about Rings of Power. A good friend tells me Dune Prophecy is better, so maybe.

    Not binge watching, but ...

... watch The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson.

The visuals are entertaining, but listen to the dialogue. All the dialogue. There is a lot of it. I think you can even benefit from only listening to the dialogue.

The premise of The French Dispatch is as an homage to the New Yorker Magazine, years roughly the 1950's to 1970's. This is a loose premise sharply focused.

A magazine in movie form. Thus all the dialogue. A radio play.

You don't have to like Wes Anderson's visual eclecticism to listen to the dialogue.

    Really enjoyed that one.
    I should watch it again.

Is anyone else watching Severance S2? It puts me to sleep almost every single time. I don't mean I fall asleep, I never fall asleep watching TV. I mean I struggle to remain awake while watching it regardless of what time it is or how I feel. After it is over I can put on something else and everything is back to normal.

I didn't enjoy the last season, but I did think it was entertaining prior to that.

I couldn't keep awake the first season, but then again, I'm a bit weird when it comes to my preference for TV series.

On that note, I thought Adolescence on Netflix was brilliant. Very tight script with a great ending. Superb acting by a well chosen cast.

I loved the first season but haven't started season 2. I need to go back and watch a few of the last episodes so I can remember what was happening.

I've been watching Brassic while riding the trainer. Silly but I like it, especially while on the trainer.

Just finished season 1 of Paradise. If you ignore the whole concept of where they are, its actually not bad.

I also need to watch season 2 of Silo.

Finished Season 4 of Slow Horses, cant wait for Season 5

Season 2 is pretty good. My wife is obsessed with it (watching someone talk about the latest episode on youtube right now...) and I'm enjoying it. Just the right level of unsettling. Season finale this week.

I've also really enjoyed the latest season of Reacher.
