    Default Iced Coffee recipes

I'm not too picky about the beans when I'm brewing iced coffee as you can tell. How about sharing your recipes as this is my go to drink following a hot ride. I tend to use 1/3 milk 2/3 coffee but I'm open to suggestions.

It's all about the cold brew in our house. A full Lido grinder jar at the coarsest possible grind + 1L of water goes in the fridge for a couple of days. Filter it out, and it's smooth and strong. Darker roasts seem to work better. I like plenty of ice, a tablespoon of sugar, and enough half and half to get it to about the shade of peanut butter. My wife goes no sugar, lots of heavy cream. I have a rotation of media bottles for iced coffee and iced tea; both are always around unless one of us has failed at life.

Fill a large tumbler with ice. Make a small cup of coffee (espresso, aeropress, small pour over, whatever) and add your sugar and cream to that. Let it sit and cool off for a minute and then add it to your tumbler full of ice. This works best if you don't skimp on the ice.

Oh, I should also mention my new vice. The market that recently opened by my house has a cafe with both kombucha on tap, and 4 barrel cold brew on nitro tap. If you have anyone near you with nitro tap cold brew, go for it. It's amazing. I don't add anything to it.

has a Thai Iced Coffee recipe that's quite rich and pretty amazing. A less sweet version uses more half-n-half instead of sweetened condensed milk.

Before I sold my espresso machine, I'd sweeten a double-shot with honey and a pinch of salt, chill it in the freezer until ice just forms over the top, add whole milk and foam it up with an immersion blender.

Oh, and for anyone in Chicago, LOBA under the Paulina Brown Line stop on Lincoln Avenue has an Iced Scorpion Mocha that's pretty great -- espresso, chocolate, a touch of Scorpion pepper powder, half-n-half and ice. Order it with an extra double-shot for extra awesomeness.
