    Default Web Enabled Garage Monitor

I can't see my garage doors from inside the house. So out came the Intel Galileo and some switches from Amazon.

It lets me view the status of the doors from the web, and sends me emails if the doors are open more than 5 minutes.

Make your own following this if Intel Galileo Garage Monitor

I have a Chamberlain garage door opener, so it's on the internet. I should have them send me a notification if it's open too long, my family is bad at closing the door

Strictly speaking this is not UL approved as it has to have a warning system prior to closing. (I also have a homebrew z-wave switch/sensor but later on just bought a couple of the linear units. The MyQ ones are also nice for a stand alone solution.)

Luckily for me it doesn't operate the doors, it merely monitors them. The MyQ gear looks cool.

Oh...I didn't realize that. You'll probably add the ability to close sooner than later. There is nothing worse than knowing your garage is open and not being able to close it!
