1st post , about to make a carbon tandem frame In Australia

the "carbon" stem i got was actually a (too long) carbon wrapped "most ", so I cut it to the length I needed , sanded off the paint where I was going to wrap it ,and glued it to a full carbon 3T handlebar , the epoxy glue will insulate the alloy and carbon I expected

after a coarse sanding and an epoxy flow coat the joint looks a lot better.

and after some wetsanding and a quick coat of clear it looks like this
