It's been a long time since I've watch college football (went to elementary school in Morgantown, so I was steeped in that fandom for a good while until I realized the hypocrisy of it all), but wasn't the Brawl usually played on the weekend after Thanksgiving?

Judging by the presence of the KLM jet, DTW?

ETA: on second glance, that KLM jet in the background is no ordinary KLM jet. The livery reads "KLM Asia", which represents an entity legally distinct from but nonetheless under the aegis of KLM. This was done to placate the irrational demands of Communist China, the latter would reason that if a foreign government recognizes Communist China's claims to Taiwan, then said foreign government cannot also have flights to Taiwan.

Convoluted (and illogical) reasoning, but it did lead to formation of subsidiaries such as KLM Asia.

One wonders what this jet is doing in North America (and DTW)?

Looks like JFK to me. Isn't that NYC in the far distant right horizon?

Good catch on the skyline. Though I’d have expected a few more buildings for NYC.

Brooklyn now has a skyline too so more likely that given the angle of the view. Across the water, the land matches Cross Bay Blvd with its north bridge and the subway trestle (right of Delta tail) in front of it.

A friend reroutes business flights thru CDG for the prodigious duty free shopping. Not my thing, but I do need to visit France again.

My wife says, if you have time in Paris she would definitely recommend visiting the Bourse du Commerce which now houses the Pinault Art Collection. Nice piece of engineering inside to convert the trading floor to a gallery!

And she says the Rodin Museum and gardens are nice this time of year. And she suggests renting bikes at Versailles to ride around the parklands there.

Flying to Fargo next Wednesday from Vegas via Denver. I've never been to Fargo, but it's the location for the Northern Great Plains History Conference this year. It's a ten-minute walk from the hotel to Minnesota.

The cafe at the Musée d'Orsay was pretty nice as well.

Lucky! I miss the Museé d'Orsay. I don't recall visiting that cafe, but I do recall a sandwich at the Louvre that was less than a masterpiece.

Checking in on this thread for the first time in a long while…ironically while sitting at a bar in Terminal B at LGA, waiting to board a flight to DFW.

    Flying still sucks.

Speaking of "fear of flying," last week my sister boarded a Jet Blue plane in FLL to fly down to the Caribbean. They take off, and about 45 minutes into an ~1.5 hr flight the pilot comes on the intercom and tells them "We have an issue and need to RTB." They fly back to FLL, and a few hours later get on a different plane and finally get there about 4 hours late. She never found out what the issue was.
