It was a wonderful show! Thile is indeed amazing! There was lots of new superb Punch Brothers music and both Rachel and Aoife. The before and after "show" songs were great including a pointed version of Paul Simon's "Loves me like a Rock" that brought the house down. Going to be a long summer with no new shows...

We attended an open air show last weekend headlining Lera Lynn...she's an excellent writer, vocalist and guitar player.

Public radio piece on the local free park series Karen and I contribute a little to. If you're around the Schenectady (the Dorptown) you need to head over... but if you're not check this out because somebody's doing this where you are or you could get something going... music haven | WAMC

On Friday the family went to see Panic! At the Disco. He's a talented artist with a serious vocal range, his music is a bit too Poppy for my regular intake however it was a good show and my wife, preteen daughters and I all had a blast. *side note* I was a minority in the audience being a white hetero cis, damn near 50 y/o, male and it only added to my experience... good to see kids completely at ease.

Next up is Slayer on sunday evening ... gonna need my ear plugs for that one.

We were offered a pair of tickets on the lawn (White River Amphitheater) for Foreigner and Whitesnake this Friday. This is truly "old school" for my wife (she's considerably younger than I by almost 18 years), and even I can only name one Whitesnake tune off the top of my head. And... is Lou Graham even singing any more?

We went to see Styx and Yes at the Maryhill winery a few years back. Every one loved Styx (it was Tommy Shaw and a back-up band), but the crowd was leaving in droves when Yes took the stage. I'm hoping Foreigner is the second act on Friday, or my wife will be pulling me out the door once Whitesnake comes on. At least we'll be going with some other friends, and I know they'll be staying for the whole show.

Reggae legend Frederick Nathaniel "Toots" Hibbert and the Maytals...awesome show this evening at our local community park. Toots is real showman and he has a super tight band to accompany his stage energy.
