Health Goth has nothing to do with actual fitness.

Ya know, as long as they aren't biting the heads off bats, frightening little girls, or otherwise doing nasty things to others or to the world, they can dress however they like, get as many tats as they like, dye their spiky hair as they like (do they still do that?) and if in addition to all that they want to work out and otherwise lead a healthy lifestyle, so much the better IMO.

Heck, they can even ride fixies, unless that's just too yesterday.

If the alternative is Heroin Chic, I'll take Health Goth any day.

I really liked Valentino's collection that debuted at Paris Fashion week.

London is big, and I've keep going behind Angel tube station for nearly 20 years. And like me, many people that are becoming old and won't follow a trend. Also, not willing to pay £6 for a pint in Brick Lane, Hoxton or Soho

Health Goth relies on an anti-nostalgic dystopian present, refracting the Other by means of an exaggerated profile and tribal-aesthetics … Health Goth creates a proto-narrative of returning to paradise lost by embracing mortality as a One-World consciousness and devotion as means to deliver us from late Capitalism … Health Goth speaks to an intrinsic psychic connection with the elements, be they fire, water or fauna and the ability to incorporate ambient nature into the corporeal realm.
Sounds like it's all the rage with sophomore comp lit students.

"an intrinsic psychic connection with the elements..." Jesus, they have gone full retard. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Sean Penn did it and went home empty-handed.

Here's my get-off-the-lawn prescription: Skip the metrosexual earth goddess imagery and go help build trails in Yosemite, or hike this alone:

Misjudging how much water it will take to make it over the next pass will connect you with the elements plenty.

Seriously, people are welcome to dress how they want, but to ascribe *anything* transcendent to adolescent clicquistry (how's that for a made up word?) should require community service. Depending on whether they actually know anything useful, it could be as simple as handing out cowbells and lattes at the next cross event.

In general, it's just a highly inappropriate satirical line copied from the highly inappropriate satirical movie "Tropic Thunder":

According to Urban Dictionary: Full Retard, one result of going in "too deep" is that the viewer is unable to connect, thus losing the entire point.

In this case, it's just me being grumpy about fashion promoters in the original post portraying dandyism as standing for something, posing models with "I am important" attitudes, saying crap like:

"Follow EJ Samson, but be prepared to be jealous. The former GQ fashion director (now leading Hearst's men's group) has an insanely good wardrobe paired with the life you wish you had. He chronicles it all on his Instagram for both life and fashion inspiration."

They have gone so stupidly, full-throttle self-absorbed with this, they've lost connection with... well, me at least. If they had just stuck with happy models having fun, there would be no issue for me. But as happened to mainemike, something about *this* thing stuck in my craw.

Baving covered the Muir twice, I don't think there is a better way to figure out what is important in life. I went seeking self discovery and discovered you actually create "self"

That fashion is great...let people preoccupy themselves with that and leave the cool shit for me.

None of these guys can hold a candle to this man:

    That hat!
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk
