I left early to drive home from Virginia, where it was near 50F. Timing was perfect, it's snowing now that we're home. But it looks like it's going north of us. Putting the snowtires on my fatbike anyway, it is going to snow about 3"

I always wondered that too. strange choice of food items to stock up on if you're expecting an extended power outage.

My wife was picking up milk for (coffee tomorrow morning) at the NYU Commissary, better known as Whole Foods at Union Square, and the girl in front of her was buying gluten free jerky, one small container of yogurt and naan.

You know, like, bread and milk, you know?

Like omg I am so freaked. Like the snow, you know?

I remember in living in Philly. In one of this storms my wife and I walked about 5 miles from queens village to 16th Arch in about a foot of snow past midnight. I never saw the city more beautiful. We also had a wawa less than a block away.

Agreed - vodka would be better. At least you can also use that to run the Coleman lantern. (I would think - never really tried it myself, so caveat emptor.)

Sorry for the “cars r coffins” followers here, but my Xterra 4x4 is gassed up and ready for whatever emergencies may arise.

    Actually, I’m not sorry.

And in honor of the Pats, I’ve let a few lbs out of my Nokian 296 studded tires, and and ready to rock! Bring it on!

Good one. Had lunch at WF Tribeca one weekday last year, it was like sitting on the set of Mean Girls. Spoiled 12-year-olds scoffing $14 sushi for lunch...

Looks like this guy is really expecting a snow storm! 28 milk cows x 4 tits each, that is 112 milk taps.. This family could stay home forever.

Around here if they mention snow, in any other state the store is a nut house. I have tried to figure it out. Without a doubt 3 items disappear. Milk, bread and bananas. I assume it is toast, glass of milk and some Good old southern style banana pudding.

Really? We get the opposite here. Every storm is an opportunity to boost ratings through crudely cultivated hysteria.

I expect government to be pretty much closed down here tomorrow, and maybe even Wednesday. I've delayed a software upgrade that was scheduled for this evening. All I've got to do is keep our remote gateways up, and send the occasional email blast.

I'm hoping my head cold eases enough to spend some enjoyable time urban snowshoeing.

How many people have been forced to eat their family members during a snow storm on the east coast over the last few years? The only reason I am buying bread today is because I need something to hold my tuna fish and banana sandwich.

Just in case you run out of tuna, here's an idea or two...

As long as the power stays on, we'll be fine. Plenty of food, drink and streaming. It'll be like the hurricane after D2R2 - we rode it out watching movies in our comfortably air conditioned parlor.

If the power dies, well... C keeps meaning to lay in the emergency supplies. All we've got, though, is snowmelt.

This will definitely be the most snow my almost 4 year old daughter has ever seen. I want to play hooky from work tomorrow just to take her sledding.

Do it. I seriously doubt you'd regret it.
