    Default Pegoretti's "Rust" sandpaper-like paint

I have a local framebuilder build a road bike frame for me. I would like to have the frame painted so it looks similar to Pegoretti's "Rust". Where can I get this paint, or what is its name? Also, is it just painting it with the proper paint, or is a special technique to apply it or prepare the frame needed too?

Here are some pictures of what it looks like:

First who are you? We like to have real names used here.

So your builder can't provide you with the finish you ask for? Does he do his own paint or job it out? If he jobs it out is there a way you can talk directly with the painter?

I don't paint and would have to ask those who do. There are a number who frequent this list. perhaps one of them will help. Perhaps contacting Dario directly could give answers or a paint job offer. Andy.

    Looking at the pics provided...

Looks like a frame blasted with 80 grit to give a base texture, coated with Dura-coat aged bronze.

So the finish is on the falz fork too. Cool. I've done something kinda similar by sanding directly into a single stage metallic base and using a flat clear on top. That's a really attractive frame.

Yes, ceramic can be applied to carbon as well, just have to modify the cure temps and times to insure preservation of the resin integrity.
