    Default Kickstand plates for sale

I have a bunch of kick stand plates that I bought many years ago and have way more than I can use. I would like to offer them for sale to anyone that has a use for them. I will continue to use these and they work great and have a built in fender mount. When I bought these I got 1,000 pieces. Not sure how many I have now...maybe 700?

I also have drum brake tabs for front forks and sidewall dyno mounts [that I cut up and use as coaster brake or rear drum brake mounts].

A set of 10 of each item shipped for $27.00

Pay through paypal to antbikemike@gmail.com be sure to indicate your mailing address and if you want more than 10 sets

    Thanks, Mike Flanigan/ANT

I will post some size specs tomorrow on the kick stand plates. And I should note that what I meant was that for $27.00 you get 10 of each plates and brackets.

KS Plates are 47mm at the smallest point to 53mm at the widest point. These work on most road touring bikes with straight stays, but I have used them on other bikes with bent stays too.

I could always use more braze-ons - any idea what postage to the UK would be?

Those plates are the standard- most kickstands (Greefield, knock offs, SKS, etc) will fit them without the top plate.

Like Eric said. You can get this stuff from any wholesaler such as QBP or JB importers. I am found of the Green Field for side sands and ESGE for dual leg stands. If using the ESGE dual leg I also still use the top plate to give it more stiffness. Fine for me with it, but I find the public over loads these and damage the CS and or plate.

Thanks for your order Drew and I will ship these out on Friday.

DSC01143.jpgThe last kickstand mount I did used old nails as studs to locate the kstand on the stay. I positioned the nail heads slightly too close together on purpose so that I could file 4 small reliefs in the sides of the kstand body and fine tune the rotational placement of the kstand. Here's a shot without the kstand yet in place. Worked real nice but a lot of effort to keep a kstand in place.

I just ordered a batch from Mike. Andy.

We use kickstand plates on the bicycles we make for pastors in Ukraine. We had them made by a laser cutting company located south of Kiev. They look similar to the ones Mike is selling. Here are a couple of tips. 1st braze them on with plenty of brass. 48 or 56% silver isn’t strong enough. The leverage of a long kickstand can rip off a plate that isn’t very well attached. 2nd it can be helpful to braze on a washer over the hole. This helps distributes the forces of the kickstand (if it is abused) to keep the plate from bending. I sometimes braze-on a stainless steel washer (with silver of course) that the paint can be polished off the top so it always looks nice.

I use Greenfield kickstands. You can buy an accessory rubber boot that helps keep the end from sinking into the ground. Ordinarily the end needs to be cut to just the right length to give the bicycle the right amount of lean or the bicycle will fall over. They aren’t easy to cut since the cut needs to be at an angle and the kickstand is difficult to hold in a vise because they are tapered and shaped like a schematic of a snow cone. In other words like a V with a rounded top. It is a compound cut that has a partially flattened end. I usually put on the flat with a belt sander.

The most common Greenfield kickstands come with a very long 10 mm bolt so it can reach between the top plate and the kickstand. I’m not overly fond of a galvanized bolt that can rust so I replace them with a shorter stainless steel one. Greenfield does makes a kickstand braze-on plate version without the top plate and a shorter bolt but they are hard to find from American distributors.

Hey Doug, I like that washer gusset idea! You can that allen bolt/no top plate model of greenfield stand at both QBP and JB Importers. Also at QBP you can buy just the bolt, washer and feet separately
