Same to you! I may just have to go out to a nearby restaurant with latkes better than mom makes*.

Gave my wife her gift (thanks again Chase!) As the family goy, to make a menorah is my job usually. But last few years, such a work order has not been sent out by the central office. But the gift is still appreciated.

I saw a t-rex menorah which I thought was pretty cool, but apparently they are plastic toys with candle holders glued on

I used to make latkes from scratch with my mom's recipe (from the good folks at Osterizer...) but now we get 'em out of a box.
    And they're damn good.
No photos, we ate them all.
    GO!

This thread motivated me to whip up some last minute latkes with the only available suitable ingredient, a massive sweet potato. Candle lighting was fun, especially because our nearly three-year old knows the blessing word for word on her own. Which is certainly more a reflection of her ability to memorize than any kind of devoted practice on my part.

did candles with the girls during thanksgiving week this year because...reasons.

Took coworkers to a traditional jewish christmas lunch yesterday since I'm sending a bunch to Kenya/Philippines over the next few weeks. Fun was had by all and a bunch of misconceptions were dispelled. Sweet potato latkes should become a thing at my house. We are in the south after all...when we were in Okinawa we did beni-imo latkes.

    The "Jewish Christmas"?
    It's a major holiday?

    C'mon, let's share stories.
