I figure some of ya'll might be interested in this:

After a 30+ years of teaching + advocating in higher ed. my mom stepped decided to take a hard-left. She got the idea of turning her narrative (Bolivian immigrant) into jewelry. For the past 2 years she's been working with artisans in Santa Cruz, Bolivia turning her sketches and ideas into wearable items.

Everything is sourced as ethically as possible, workers are given a living wage+, and she's helping to call attention to some of the destruction that comes with First-Worldization.

I haven't always been über stoked on her designs but some of the stuff she's produced in the past 6 months has been effin' stellar.
