Default Edge 800 power alert tones

As it's the season of steady power work, I'm reminded of one of my biggest grumps about the edge 800.
I often set a high and low power alert to keep me honest while doing z2 or z3 work. It's a great tool but could be made so much better by the high and low alerts being different tones and or the ability to "smooth" out the warning trigger so it won't go off by skipping a rotation or a tiny burst of speed.
Anyone have a hack/workaround? I do think the alerts beat staring at the stem but the beeping is pretty constant.

Same issue with the 510. AFAIK no workaround. Why it can't be set to use 3 or 5 second average power instead of instant power is beyone me. I have the beeps turned off entirely now but I still get an obnoxious pop-up box whenever I go out of zone for half a pedal-stroke.

I've just stopped using the workouts function and gone back to writing my workout on a piece of masking tape on my stem.
