    Default Framebuilding and Cooking

As I made lunch today I thought about this. Are framebuilders good cooks? Both have a concern over heat control. Both have to pick the right parts for the whole to come out right. Both require specific ways of cutting parts to make them fit their greater end.

    Discuss.

I think what sets framebuilders and cooks apart is the wait times.

I think with cooking, timing is everything. You need to bring everything together at the same time. There is no similar time demand with building a frame. At just about any point in the process, you can finish a step, quit, come back later, and everything will be ok.

Any non-trivial pursuit requires practice and discipline. You can't just jump between them and hope to do well.

Most people who work with their hands are better than average at cooking, on average.
