Default Ad when opening Cyclingnews dot com

Does anyone else get a pop-up gambling ad when opening Cyclingnews? Seems kind of fishy....

    Not here, tried 3 setups:

    1. XP with Firefox 28 (w/ adblock + ghostery + flashblock + host file)
    2. XP with IE 8 (host file to block advertising sites)
    3. W7 with IE10 (how does anyone browse with all the flashing cr*p that gets loaded by default).

When I open Google I get Irish Google. Not US Google. I might need to reset my browser or my whole computer. Anyone have tips?

Sorry for the tangential topic but I figured something was wrong when I've opened Cyclingnews over the past day or so.

    TIA

Simple. Use Chrome or Firefox and the AdBlock Plus extension. Works with youtube and pandora as well. AdBlock Plus makes web browsing so nice.

Adblock is available for Safari too. It works great.

Might want to run malwarebytes to see if you've got some malware.

It's not just an ad issue. I think the security of my computer may be compromised.

    Thanks for the answers.

This works for OS X and is dependable, though it isn't very fancy. If it removes anything, you'll find it in your trash where you can delete as you see fit.

At the very least I'd clear my browser cache (along with history and cookies). That's always a good first step when internet weirdness occurs.

I'm moving this to the OT. Saab's nsfw computer activity isn't general discussion material.

Thanks. I only started this because of a weird connection that can start anywhere. I do appreciate the suggestions from those who are tech savvier than I am. I have generally found Apples to be safe and secure machines. If this is out of line feel free to close it. Less NSFW material than one might imagine. But lots of finance and I don't need that compromised.

PS - This all started when logging on with a new router at a new location.

If by new you mean new to you rather than right out of the box new, that sounds like it may be this issue then:

FWIW, this issue went away when I just got home to my house in VA Beach. I need to let my brother know his router may be compromised.

Thanks for all the answers. I do appreciate it and the mods may feel free to close this if they wish. Sounds like it's a security issue beyond any NSFW issues.
