Default Photo hosting sites - Flickr

I have been hosting photos on Flickr for several years to link to them for this and other sites. It appears that in the past 48 hours a change has taken place and I can no longer open images to link to that specific image. Has anyone else noticed this?

I uploaded a picture of today's ride to link to it and was thwarted in my efforts.

Anyone else experience anything like this with this site?

I have a pro account, so it may not be the same, but it's still working for me (albeit even more steps).

    1. Click on photo
    2. Go to "share" icon (rectangle with an arrow mid way down)
    3. A pop up will show where you can select the size of the image and where/ how you want to share it
4.Choose between a link (chain icon), embed (</>) or fixed link (the push pin icon)
    5. Copy link.

It looks like it's designed to work on a phone, which is great unless you are not on a phone.

To post here, if I copy what the pin icon gives me and paste it into the body I get this:

I figured it out, but I'd still rather they go back to the old white background/ easy interface days.

I did notice they changed the interface a little bit. I was able to get to the old view of a photo and copy the url though.
    Here's what worked for me:
-when viewing your photo, on the right click the "more actions" button (looks like 3 horizontal dots) and choose "download / all sizes"
-at the bottom of the pop up, click "view all sizes". That should bring you to the old viewer, and you can choose your size and then click/drag the photo to a new tab in your browser (or right click and copy url)

There may be a simpler way to do it but that works for me in Chrome/Win7

Got it. I hope they keep it accessible. I like the new unlimited Flickr but I'm not sure I'm too keen on the brand new format.

the only problem I see with Eric's method is that the photo links to his Flickr page/account. I like the static url better, as it doesn't identify your account and you can't browse through other public pics you may have.

So you can use the share icon like Eric said. The icon is second from the right on the top.

Then select the push pin icon. Icon is middle row on right.

    Attachment 65416

Select size from the pull down menu.

    Attachment 65417

Then copy the entire link in horizontal box across the bottom.

    Attachment 65418

Paste link directly into the message composition window on VS. No need to use the "insert image" radio button. Everything is done already.

If you want to keep the image isolated from your Flickr account, just lop off the url and /url on either end of the string.

    Pretty simple.

yeah but there's a work around for this: How to find the original Flickr Photo URL and User from a Static Flickr Image URL/Permalink (My priceless Flickr Tip) | Bram.us
