Default August garden wedding advice needed

So I am attending my own early evening garden wedding in August of this year in NJ. It could be hot, really hot. We are going for a more informal look but not quite cut offs and tube tops. I have an idea in mind of the suit I would like to wear but I would like some other opinions or criticism. The dream suit is the Brioni plaid one although it is close to 1/4 of the budget so that is out. What say the v-salon mavens of style?

Suit/August/outdoors. Stick to two of three choices.

You are setting yourself up to be a sweaty mess. Please don't make your guests wear suit and tie as well.

    It depends.

Are we talking Saddle River? Jersey City? Hopewell? Mantaloking? Cape May?

Brother alexstar got married last June on what turned out to be one of the hottest days on record here in norcal. I wore a dark suit and regretted every second of it. He'll chime in, I'm sure.

The coolest guy at the wedding was wearing a custom white seersucker suit with shorts (!) and a Panama hat. A fashion plate he was not, but he was definitely the most well-ventilated.

You are not going to look like one of those models. You're going to look like Marlon Brando in the final scene of Apocalypse Now.

Unlined tropical weight wool or cotton.

Here I am at a wedding on a hot and humid day in August 2012 in southern Lancaster County.

Unlined jacket, very light shirt, tropical wool pants. I was OK until we started dancing.

Thanks for the replies. I should clarify that only the ceremony is going to be outside then we will be dining inside the main house. So I only need to make it about an hour outside.

I'd reconsider the plaids. Plaid suits get clownish real quick if you don't do it just right. The one in the middle is terrible, the ones to the sides only slightly less so.

Linen, chino, seersucker, tropical weight wool. Those are your smart choices.

Light grey pinstriped Super 120's wool suit. White linen dress shirt. Silk socks. You can work the rest on your own.

I got hitched on Kauai near the beach. Silk single color aloha shirt. Linen shorts and nice sandals. No ties allowed. No dress code. Folks figured it out and liked it that way.

If I thought I had even a snowballs chance in hell of my fiance agreeing to a quickie vegas wedding I would go for it.

Tropical-weight muted navy pinstripe or a tropical-weight black/gray nailhead pattern is timeless.
Crisp white shirt with French cuffs will look snappy. Your choice whether to add a tie or not.
Outdoor summer events are a challenge for guests. You'll wish to clearly communicate dress code to them.
