    Default The alpine ski gear thread

    This one does not seem to exist or I could not find it. Discuss skis, ski gear, ski clothing etc....

    Right now I am thinking of getting a pair of powder skis, they seem to evolve very quickly. I tried some dps 112mm yesterday, huge rocker front and back. I am not really used to skis that wide or with a rocker so it takes a bit of time getting used to. It looks that they have some potential though with a pretty tight radius of 18m for the 190cm which is good in trees etc...

    I just got a pair of Salomon Rocker 2. 139-115-129. Lots of rocker in the tip and tail but still some camber under foot. Easy to make GS turns when you've gotta be on piste. Fucking awesome off piste. The rocker lets the skis blast through everything. Really, really fun. I would not even consider an off piste ski without rocker. Difference is like shitty clinchers vs supple tubulars.
