Goruck's are built in the US!

+100 to anything Dana Gleason touches. You will have to pry my Dana Design Terraplane from my cold dead hands.

I really like my Goruck. The material is good. The stitching is damn strong. They did have some stitching issues when they switched sewing shops, that was maybe 6 months before I bought mine and they definitely worked out any issues they had. I just wish my wife would have bought me a black one rather than a multi cam.

I can see how the Mystery Ranch may be a better load carrier. However, really cynically, it just doesn't look as nice. So far 2 months in I love the GR2. Pockets galore. And sensible pockets.

I remain mystified by the lack of a 20L daypack in the MR line. I think their smallest daypack is 33l. Maybe in Bozeman, days are 60 hours long?

Check out their military offerings (available in black and foliage as their non-camo colors): Military Assault / Patrol Packs | Mystery Ranch Backpacks

    They start at 16L.

I've actually be scouring tactical and firearm forums looking for FS/FT posts for a black one hoping someone will want to trade. I would have exchanged it when I got it, but 1) I was traveling the following week and wanted to use it and this bag took maybe 4 weeks from order to receiving and 2) didn't want to hurt the wife's feelings

I almost pulled the trigger on that exact one a month ago. I like the camo.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with an absurd collection of bags around here. Between travel and bike bags, I think I have more carrying capacity than I have stuff.

I like the camo for the most part, but I generally like to be a little more stealthy. Also, when I do go into my work office, I take this bag which feels out of place in an (even very relaxed) office environment.

If you happen to get a black one, I'll trade you!

Thanks, but my fickle heart is set on a Mystery Ranch ASAP:

A bit smaller, a bit more technical in terms of load bearing. Won't happen any time soon - I spent that money on a crib.

I have as many messenger bags as my wife has purses. This is probably one of the only places where I'd feel comfortable sharing that.

I'm not quite there, but every other messenger bag in my closet, including my 10-year-tested Chrome, became obsolete when I received my cdy.wms bag. You need to be there. That and my Whalemouth and I'm good for carry-on travel just about anywhere.

My baileyworks super pro did that, but I'm always open to trying another. Cody...if you're out there, how does one see your wares?

He doesn't check in here too often anymore, but he's easy to find. They're mostly one-offs based on a pattern he's developed. I hear there might be a forthcoming production run.

As EB said, I'm here more sporatically these days. Long story short, I made a couple of bags for some VSalon locals, including Eddie last fall to get some outside feedback with the goal of doing a short run. Materials are inbound and I'll be sewing up 9 or 10 for sale. All messenger bags with black body, and a choice of color for the outside flap and bottom. Colors coming in include black, red, yellow, blue, and turqoise. Some pics are below, but I'll post pics of the actual ones for sale once they get done. And feel free to PM me with any questions.

NICE WORK CODY!!! Thanks for "re-configuring" my old reload bag. It's functional now thanks to you.

Hey, no problem. Anything for you, TT.

Had to run to a meeting before I could finish up that last post. For those wondering about materials, here's what is going into these bags:

1000D Cordura (genuine stuff, not the very similar non-DuPont licenced product that I've found inconsistent) for the outside and all interior and exterior pockets.

14 oz Vinyl coated polyester (VCP) for liner. Orange for visibility. Interior Cordura pockets are yellow.

Mil-spec grosgrain for edging, mil-spec velcro, and mil-spec webbing for the shoulder strap and such.

#69 nylon thread to make it all stick together

And sewn on a Singer 155 which could probably do some serious damage to errant fingers if you aren't too careful.
