    Default pens

I know a box of disposable Bics will last me a lifetime. I know an Allez will be all the bike I'll ever need.

I ride a Corsa and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm not interested in bling, just something that I'll take care of and keep track of. Something simple yet, in true Vsalon fashion, is made better than it needs to be.

    Thanks

Well, since you asked. I've been using a version of the "Space Pen" for years. Has a nice weight and is smooth like buttah.

I own one of these: CW&T SHOP — Pen Type-A I really like it, the only problems I have are solved in the production ones. I backed it through kickstarter. I also have a 3d printed sleeve for pocketing it.

I use a TWSBI daily. Also have a Cartier Diabolo that sees action. Fountain vs Roller Ball. Depends on the day and mood. TWSBI fountain helps me chill out and write better. Cartier is bullet proof.

    Zebra Space Pen hack.

I keep one in the office and move one into whatever bag I'm carrying around on a given day. Nice weight, no graphics, inexpensive.

i've had the same standard silver cross pen forever. not that expensive, uses readily available cartridges, etc etc. takes plenty of abuse, what's not to love?

Oh man, this looks right up my alley. A "hacked" pen. I read through that link, found the phrase "threaded press fits." Looks like you can't escape it anywhere.

This is the one I had for 15 years before someone "borrowed" it from me on set as a prop and I never saw it again.

Lamy ballpoints. Smooth writing with the broad nib refill. I break them or lose them but keep coming back--
Colors (plastic) Lamy Fountain Pens, Ballpoint Pens, Writing Instruments, Refills from Lamyusa.com
Anodized Al Lamy AL-star Ballpens Lamyusa.com
or Clear plastic Lamy ballpoint vista model L212, 212 pen clear, see-through in transparent ABS plastic finish, ballpen, Writing Instruments, Shop at Lamyusa.com

Currently I like the slightly industrial look of clear plastic with the bar code on the refill visible thru the pen body.

It took me a few tries with cold/heat before I was able to pop the top off and I cut my hand on the stupid clip in the process...

When I get tired of bike stuff I take to fountain pens.
Daily writers are the TWSBI 700 VAC, Lamy Safari and Faber Castell Ondoro. All great smooth writing workhorses.
I'm a draughtsman by profession and wanted to practice some classic skills which eventually led to longhand letter writing. We spend half a lifetime behind a computer screen and don't even realise it !
This is the VSalon for fountain pens...

I was once a bit of a pen snob and mostly used Lamy fountain or Mont Blanc ball points for everyday use and had a fancy-smancy Waterman as my "signature pen". Those are all in a drawer since I discovered the Pilot Varsity line of disposible fountain pens. These things cost about $2 each, have a wonderful nib... not too flexible and not too stiff, have sufficient weight to feel like a pen not a feather and provide 99% of what the expensive fountain pens delivered for 1% the cost and none of the hassle (no converter to refilll or cartridge to replace).

Plus no guilt if you lose one....

I am currently sitting in the old Parker Pen building as our offices have been temporarily moved while an addition is added to our building. Just thought that was relevant somehow.

Dang those 701's are trick looking.

I carried the original 301's around for years when I worked in manufacturing and wore a uniform. They lived in the pocket protector that I slipped into the chest pocket every morning.

Must get a set of the 701's.
