Default Grumps can suck it, it's Friday!

This doesn't have to catch on as a positive counterpart to the grumps thread, but I'm pumped and I don't care who knows it.

Should be closing on first house in the next few days. Lots of work to come. Will have tons of shop space for bike/electronic/musical projects. Fuckyes.

Hell yes. Friday lasted 48 hours in this jawn. Wifey woke up and said, "Let's ride our bikes." So we did, tandem, 52 miles, which is a freaking record by the way. The boy is at his grandparents for three weeks in the country, we had brilliant ethiopian for dinner and watched Die Hard. Y'all will excuse me, now, but, as the man said, "Today was a good day."
This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the bike.

Life is wonderful!!! This past week my bride and I celebrated our 10-yr anniversary and it turned out to be a heck-ova-day.

Started off by getting to test-drive a FRS - something the sales manager said we couldn't do (cool story but I don't want to bore you with details). Apparently I was only the 2nd person since the FRS became available who's been able to test-drive one from our dealer.

Later that afternoon we checked into Hotel Indigo in town. Wife and I have had a running joke (not repeatable) about staying there since they were building the building. Anyway I splurged and reserved one of the uber-nice suites as a surprise, but when we got there they told us they'd upgraded us to one of the "condos" upstairs! 3 bedroom 2.5 bath... it was literally bigger than our house and with a 10th floor view of A-Ville to die for. Several great meals and a day spent together down-town later we were ready to go back home to the kids.

A $200 inspection saved me from the money pit I thought I wanted in the OP. Snatched my balls out of the salad shooter at the last second.

10 miles of sweet singletrack on the Zank SS to bring me to my office door. No complaints here.

Tomorrow's cross race - #5 for me this season - is 2 minutes from my house, and I don't race until 10:45, so I can sleep until 7. And I get to watch my son race on a new-to-him bike at 9. Then Rosey's gonna deliver my new Zank hoodie in the afternoon.

No beer at the venue, but did I mention that my house is 2 minutes away?

Just found out that the nipple hound that stole my one and only Strava KOF (it's ND, there are no Ms around)...

    ...was busted for EPO usage.

It was in '04 so it doesn't really matter, but I got some perverse satisfaction anyway.

Have a new (to me) Cigar City brew in the fridge at home waiting to be opened. One I have never had before. Will report on it in the beverage thread later.

Tomorrow the boy learns to shoot bb guns and a bow and arrow. Should be a cool day for a father and a son. Can't wait.

Racing cross for the first time on Sunday.

Gonna need Monday off to rest.

    Cheers.

Just don't add "I shot my eye out" to the list of Monday Morning CXcuses thread.

Which one? Those guys RULE - very advanced brewery; lots of cool, unusual stuff. Love the Jai Ali of course, and also a big fan of the Tocobaga. Man, that Guava Grove Farmhouse sounds awesome. They do some really cool barrel aging - e.g. a Berlinerweiss aged in pear brandy barrels. I land in SW FL Monday and will no doubt be picking up some Jai Ali at Publix. It's worth the trip to the brewery if you've never been.

There's no way I can wait til US American Friday to say how happy I am at the current level of silliness happening on the forum. That cat in that one thread that said we're wrong that this place is a cut above is only half right - it fits some so poorly because it fits others so well. Not everyone can pull off skinny jeans (holler if you've ever tried to pull someone else's off), but the fact that big shapeless mom jeans "fit" most people doesn't mean they're ever a good look. I'm rambling. I like it here. A lot.
