My nieces are coming tonight!!!!
I've got a couple of bike rides planned, Shop time, and hopefully lots of pool time. For Father's Day I'd like everyone to slow down and appreciate what we have.

First Father's day as a father! I wonder what the wife and son are going to do!

House in NJ finally sold/closed on Monday = big wad of cash in our account.
Found a few good local Boston rides with help/thanks to people on this forum.
Had a second interview (first was a phone interview) at a possible job yesterday and before I left they asked me to return next week for a follow up interview. This could be a good opportunity and the commute is only 15-20 minutes by walking and Transit in Boston area. No more NYC/NJ 90 minute (each way) 21 mile commutes for me. I want 2 hours of my day back. I want my riding time back. I want my life back.
So far, downsizing from a NJ 1800sqft home to a 700sqft Boston apartment has been working well for our new slim-downed lifestyle.
I bring Amie home this weekend. Surgery on June 2nd, return to some semblance of normal life on June 22nd.
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk
First Friday/ weekend without having to travel for work/ race/ family since before early April.

Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
Brandon, this is the Friday thread, where we're happy about stuff. So now you have another grump.

Posting early because I'm heading out tomorrow for a weekend of camping and riding at one of my favorite trails. Ending up with a Biathlon on Sunday.
Ride a short mountain bike loop. Fire 5 shots prone. .22 open sights, 40 meters. Short penalty lap for each miss, then another short loop and 5 shots offhand, same distance, again a short penalty lap for each miss. Then another short loop. Did this event last year and had a great time. It's hard as hell to shoot straight when your out of breath.

Grumpin' is for suckers.
Put the fast wheels (thanks Zanc) on the "vintage bike" for Friday's commute in.
Started working on the next project. Don't fear, I checked with the man and he said it was okay.
If you'd have told me 20 years ago that I'd be spending a night with a Spider-Man cup of box wine, some cutting oil, a reamer, and a Spectrum...I'd have had a shit eating grin on my face.

Sunny and 22c . Finish work at lunch time, Go for a MTB ride in the Alps. Today is looking good!
My apartment is in the old city of Salzburg. And this weekend every year they have a huge Linzergasse street party. The local beer served one meter from the front door to my apartment is just way to tempting. The local bands playing their not so hip music I can do without but women dressed up in Dirndl is great.
Have a good weekend everyone and happy trails!!
Mortgage commitment is in, hope to close on the new house next week.

My name is Peter Miller.
Wife is finally in Boston. She had to stay two more weeks in NJ to finish up her old job. We have never been apart that long in 15 years.
Possible job checking my references. Hoping to have an offer later today.
Family woke up totally excited to head to WV later today! Forecast is thunderstorms, so I think they're looking forward to seeing me suffer through Hilly Billy!
This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the bike.
Skies are finally free of rain. Today is going to be a back road ride to Moo-Ville
It's still raining here in the windy city. But no animals are lining up in pairs and I missed the H2O on the commute in. Happy Friday.
Returned from family vacation last Friday evening, daughter caught this hog on that trip. 27 incher.
