There's browser extensions that will keep track of how much time you spend on each site(s). Maybe an eye opener like that will help. I seem to recall there's even some that will block sites during certain hours.

Advantages:
- No office bitching, no gossip, no complaining.
- My time is productive.
- No commuting.
- My own kitchen and my own bathroom. Primo quality tp.
- Get to play with the dogs and cat.
- Pants are ALWAYS optional.
- I can fart, eat Indian food, never be stingy on garlic.
- Flexible schedule.
- Shoulder rubs when my girlfriend gets home early and I'm working late.
- I can call it quits for the day (or work in the evening) and do something fun with my girlfriend when she gets home early.
- If it's a shit day and I know I'm not going to get anything done anyway, I can just take that day off.
I've never had any productivity issues, I don't need peer pressure to get things done.
100% !!!
I do all these things.
Yesterday sucked so I layed down most of the day.
......should have went and got Indian food........

Re: Working from home full time: the negatives?
I've been working from home for over 11 years now..........my own businesses.
I loved the transition. I get up and get prepped for work (hint: don't work in PJ's or some east european gym suit) as I would if I had to commute to the office. However, no suit needed. Instead of dealing with idiots during morning rush hour I sit down, have breakfast and read the paper. Then down to the office (dedicated) with my mug of proper coffee and work.
I'm fortunate that a business I started 5 years ago gets me out of the office midday and I meet staff and clients regularly. Prior to that I would meet folks on midday rides-not business related of course. So, the lack of daily person to person interaction would be a negative.
My personal expenses are way down in that I no longer have the cost of daily commutes, no fancy suits nor the morning Starbucks stop nor some fatty lunch. Years ago I estimated that to be close to a 5 figure annual savings.
Rarely do I fuck things up so job stress compared to the typical corporate world (where you get pounded with crap no matter how good you are) is non existent. We are so busy that if a client bitches and does not appreciate one of my policies (like snow days) I just tell them that it's best we part way's.
So, unless you like gritty one ply tp only available through some cheap online office supply outlet that your firm has an account with, there are a lot of positives.
