    ronnie -

fair warning, this crowd runs decidedly anti-abarth*. let the piling on begin!

    * not me. i say per dollar, it's a great car, and if you're going to buy a FWD turbo four-banger, it's the only game in town. sexy, economical, and what an exhaust note. the sound is what sells it. i was >| |< that close to buying one.

The crowd may be decidedly more pro-Ronnie than anti-Abarth. Or they just like busting your chops.

    Ronnie

My next door neighbor works for the manufacturer. He is always bringing home all the new offerings before they hit the dealerships. He is a corporate guy so his opinion will be slightly skewed. He knows all the product inside and out. He essentially tears down a brand new car and trains people on how to rebuild them...ie mechanics. If you really want to talk shop like I know you can, I am sure you two would hit it off. Let me know if you have interest in asking him anything.

I am hopeful that Ronnie + Abarth should create a nice Vsalon short circuit for me to enjoy. Or, you're right and, well, shit.

Best case, this thread goes beautifully haywire and includes photos of ghias and isos and whatnot. Let the games begin!

An Iso Grifo would be a suitable station car for you.

-- if i could figure a way to get a bike inside with front wheel off or a suitable roof rack --- just might take a serious look at this issmo red/ red race seat interior rascal..
drove through downtown winter haven fl --- flocked a bunch of park pigeons, couple ladies on walkers and ole geek about my age waved his cane at me as i park circled..
much fun as my ole prep school twin fox engined go cart through greenwood indy streets and piss'n the corvettes off as i circled my ole jps lotus round em on the cloverleafs, in later years..
damn, if i rolled the rascal over with a bike a'roof, could just handcrafted roll home..
tammy wants to know when will i grow up -- i hope never -- take with me a woodpecker on roids when they close me in wood..

ronnie just wait'n for highnoon with anticipation and a smile---my service on the local police commission is ticking down..

it's an impractical micro-car with an emphasis on style rather than substance and utility.

That being said, most fun things are impractical.

Ronnie - with your connections I reckon you could get a real Autobianchi A112 Abarth. Solid little car, not prone to rust, and none of them have been driven hard or pranged at all. Second hand value probably pretty good if you sell it to marcelia.

Hey Ronnie - I was looking at one to drive in the summer months. I know nothing about them other than the concept is great. I had a Mini Cooper that I loved but at 40K it started having mechanical issues so I sold it.

But I'd love to hit the canyon in something sportier than a 4Cyl truck.

170bhp and around 1000kgs. By my rudimentary arithmetic that adds up to awesome.
If I had the money I'd have one tomorrow.

Not exactly the same class of cars, but they're all mentioned on this page. I've had a WRX, a couple Mini S, and I've driven the fiat. I'd stack them in that order. WRX > Mini S > Fiat. I'm with Cody.
