Yes it's finished :) Took it to the track a couple of times, planning for an 6H endurance race in June. It's a blast.... An old school blast.

Arrived at dealer Thursday - getting PPF and ceramic and a few minor mods pre-delivery (clear side markers, ditch anti-theft lug bolts, max out stock camber, etc.) . I should be picking up this coming Thursday or Friday.
And I escaped tariffs - a great source of anxiety for current orders - I wouldn't have taken the car with one. Kudos to Porsche for watching out for their customers.
Porsche code PSARV255 if anyone interested.
I will throw up a couple of pictures when it's home.
My 718 track car has been sidelined by a flywheel and clutch pack failure - should have that back in a couple of weeks also.
I'm no Lionel but I'm way down the rabbit hole and itching to get back to the track.
The good news is that the absence of cars has me back on the bike riding at levels (but not speeds) of my racing days and really enjoying it.

Way to go Lou. I miss track days a little too much. The 65' Volvo 122s just might travel to WVA for some slow(er) giggles.
I looked, the new pcar will be a blast.

I like it, Lou, particularly the interior choices. Do you allow eating and drinking in the car? I always wonder when a light interior is chosen.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I feel really lucky to be getting this. Very self-indulgent but I justify it because I'm turning 65 so:
a) What the hell. I'm going to be in an urn in my kids basement sometime in the next 2- 3 decades
b) It's likely to hold or grow in value over time (sunset of ICE, tariffs, historical 911 price trends, etc.) so not quite the dumbest thing I've ever done.
Regarding eating, etc: my philosophy has always to buy nice things that retain value but use the hell out of them while taking very good care of them. My bikes with tens of thousands of miles have a little patina but otherwise look good and are perfectly tuned. Even my track car which is eight years old and beaten to hell on a regular basis looks near new. So the 911 will see tons of miles in all types of weather. I will draw the line on salty winter roads. Being retired, I always have the time for a nice hand wash whenever it gets too verklempt.
Specifically WRT to eating, I've always looked at it as a distraction while driving. The car as rolling fast food joint is a uniquely American phenomenon. So it will see the occasional cup of coffee or water bottle, but not a lot of food. It's not because of the light interior.
Where's Lionel with some more air cooled beauties? I'd like to see more of his cars here..............

Sweet car.
To your point on fast food in the car. About a zillion years ago, I was working on the US marketing account of the VW Porsche Audi. The US sales guy for the Audi part had convinced the group that they had to put a cup holder into all of the cars if they expected to sell more in the US. The German bosses did not understand this at all. I remember one meeting where the usually non-flappable managing director incredulously said "But you drive on a highway and you eat in your home or at your destination". They did put the cup holders in but even with their incredible German engineering did not quite get the original overall design right. About two years after that decision made it into production, there was a meeting where the Germans were trying to figure out why they were replacing a lot of Blaupunkt radios and it turns out it was because of the positioning of the cup holder causing splashed drinks into the radio from the physics of liquids through pulled up cup top tabs in a rapid stop.

Yep, the cupholders in all Porsches up until the 992 have been a vestigial clunky afterthought. For good reason as you stated.
Even in the 992, you have to option the free 'smoker's package' which is just a plastic cup intended to serve as an ashtray. The space can hold one drink. I've used the crazy fold out mechanical cupholder in my 718 exactly once in 8 years.

The 992 cupholder remains in a stupid position for those with three pedals. The one on the dash is unreachable. I hope the center one works for you with PDK.
I use the door pocket for a water bottle and that's usually it.
You're gonna love the car. They're fantastic. Drive 'em!
Congrats on 992 !
Here you go on the 3.0RS

Spectacular - we need something beyond a 'like' button for a masterpiece like this. Enjoy!

Lionel, I like to see the amount of sidewall on your tires. I’m guessing this is a racing class requirement, or is this your choice?
Dan Fuller, local bicycle enthusiast
Some historic races require the car to have the historic passport that is very strict and requires 15 inches period correct wheels.
It appears to be street-legal.
