    LEGO PORSCHE 911 BUILDING SET

LEGO is expanding its Creator series of building sets to include classic cars, and the Porsche 911 is first in line. The new set will let you build both the Turbo model with its turbocharged engine and the Targa with a removable roof. Both of the air-cooled models feature authentic 911 details inside and out, including dark orange interior, tilting front sport seats, and iconic front and rear bumpers. The 1,458-piece kit will be available for VIP members on February 15th and then to everyone else online and in stores on March 1.

They've really improved the shapes on that LEGO kit. The prior GT3 kit was very chunky as I recall.

I always suspected Porsche made Targa roll cages out of left over Turbo whale tails. This finally confirms it.

This would make an awesome gift for my 4 1/2 year old son and my 42 year old brother in law.

I would totally order a kit but I would need weeks of mental preparation to face the stare of my partner when I am building it.

You're right. I recall a white GT3 LEGO build that was chunky but the kits I find for sale are not. Maybe I saw an article on a home-brew build.

Nice day for a drive, Lionel.

I tell myself silver is too common for a German car, and then I see this and think well, now ...

Very nice! Adding to or selling the Touring? Or is this one for the other side of the pond? I've got 992 GT3 fever, but unlikely to get my hands on an allocation - probably secondary market when/if it levels out.

It's for France, will probably let the 993 go to keep my marriage in good shape. Never selling the touring !

Congratulations! The RS is a monster and a chalk Touring is a lifetime car. How was the air-cooled experience with the 993? I'm curious but lower on my priority list than a GT car.

Thanks Lou. My touring is white :) I am struggling with what to do with the 993. Really love this car, air-cool and all. But the GT cars are in a different league. If I am 100% honest with myself the 993 is slightly too small for me in the legroom department. So I may sell it. Not sure. Everything is damn slow in France so I will get the RS only end of the month after full tune up , new tires, radiators grill install, etc....

It looks like I could make $30K easily on this car that I bought 2 years ago and drove 9K miles. Ain't doing it though.
