Electric razor recommendations sought....

Salonistas; #1 Son emailed me from college asking for an electric shaver, his claim being that it's too time-consuming to razor himself in the morning...or any time of day, for that matter. I'm a blade guy who has never used an electric shaver. Any recommendations on a decent one? He doesn't need a gazillion-dollar appliance, but something several notches up from a torture device would be sufficient. Is something like a Norelco okay? What about those wet/dry shavers? Benefits/detriments of the various blade configs would be really good info. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Many years ago I used to use a classic corded Remington that did the job well until one day the screen wore a hole through and off came a chunk of my face. So replace the foils every so often. My father still uses the rotating Norelco style, but we both take 3 weeks to grow a beard if you can even call it that.

Answer #1 from someone who never had a child in college - Teach him to plan for personal time in the mornings. He deserves to know that it is important to have the basic male mes en place for grooming and self care. It is not about getting the job done as quickly as possible yo. Hope that does not sound harsh. This seems like a good opportunity to teach him something that will last a lifetime.

Then get him the rechargeable, self cleaning Braun. They even work on my wiry, blade eating, not shaved daily, face. Expensive but worth it. They last and do a great job.

This is the only electric shaver that ever worked for me. It's a good product...for an electric shaver. That said, I always end up back with a razor.

I use a blade and brush, but when travelling I usually haul this thing along with me.

The only one I ever owned that actually works.

I am going to be real glad when radiation is over and my neck can have a razor near it because I really don't like electric. I bought a pretty decent Braun but I must be using it wrong because it leaves random whiskers behind and big patches on my jaw line.

I have used one for years with good results and bought one for each of my sons when it was time.
