Finally Finally got this bike together for my girlfriend. I made the frame ages ago but we took a while to choose parts over the cold winter months.

This was to replace a bike that I built for her that got totalled last year when she got hit by a car, luckily she was only bruised and shaken

Also spent the week working on a Max Audax frame for a customer

And have been planning for this:

Thats right, the first ever Australian Handmade Bike show. Watch out NAHBS, there is a new kid in town (well across the ocean)

    Hi guys,

Things are moving slowly in Hřlen with quite a bit of travelling in my full-time job. But I did manage to finish up a 29er a couple of weeks ago. This is the second JFW for Řyvind. He also rides a 650b singlespeed I built a couple of years ago. A few pics of the 29er below in addition to some other (perhaps?) interesting stuff.

Peder Lobbens machinists handbooks. First and second edition. Fascinating Norwegian engineer born in 1854 and later immigrated to the US. He's was an entrepreneur, engineer and writer. Scans of his handbooks in english can be found over at archive.org.

Oh, and we were given a true "fiberglassic" this last week. A very nice Norwegian made 18-footer from 1963.

    Cheers!

some great stuff this week- kudos folks!
I've been trying to keep up the pace...

and a frame painted in a local team's livery:

    6127cb08fe7111e19f0922000a1e9a7d_7.jpg
and lastly a bit of framebuilding in this commercial (admins feel free to take this down if it is too commercial!) done for Thule which benefits the Charity Pedals For Progress

always a bit weird to see video of yourself but it was for a good cause so I'll bite my lip.

Started my fork for frame #2. I switched to a #2 tip...things get hot a lot faster...I'm learning though!

    All cleaned up.

Just curious. What do you cut your fork blades with to ensure they are straight?

I made this a while ago for my curved blades, but it doesn't work to well for straight blades because I didn't mill the slot long enough. But before I go back and modify it, I was thinking of asking you guys. I guess this probably belongs in the "ask" section.

A randonneur inspired 650b I built for my wife. I posted pictures previously when the frame and fork was finished. Here it is back from paint and all built up.

    @ 02136 this week:

A couple of new members of the team:

    South Bend lathe. Circa 1941.

Modified, set up and in production as our new headtube (1 1/8" & 44mm) and PF30 BB reamer:

Sharp Precision monster lathe with 1 1/2" through bore and both standard and metric readout.

And some more KCE mystery mail:

Which inspired us to buy these for all of our "old-timey" mail:

    Cheers all!
